It sounds like a great plan … family photos for the holidays, but that great plan can turn into a logistics nightmare in no time flat.
In the past, I have offered mini-sessions for the holidays that have been redirected by weather, locations, and a million other things from unwilling teenagers to other family dynamics.
It should go without saying that it is the busiest season of the year and everyone wants to have the photos online before they even arrive home from the session.
Now imagine being one of five families that day to have their photos taken and you are all on a time crunch.
When I looked at relaunching my photography business, I decided what worked in the past and what didn’t.
Session Fees: These are a must, as I block out that time for you in my schedule and drive or fly to the location of your choice. This fee pays for my experience, talent, and time.
Included Perks: A session fee covers my time and lets you know upfront how much time to allow for your session, and also the extras included in the fee will be spelled out.
Scheduling Buffers: I will only allow up to three sessions per day. I don’t want to stress about time and I do not want you to feel that your session is rushed. If we discover that we need more time or locations, we can discuss that during our pre-session consultation.
Travel Fees: I can travel all over the US and most other countries. If you would like an out-of-state session or for me to travel for one day of a family vacation or milestone event. This does come with an additional fee.
